As we wrap up 2025, we’re celebrating how The Toolbox has grown over the past year, from platform upgrades and partnerships to real-world impact across events, education, and organizations around the world.
1. A NEW, SMARTER TOOLBOX PLATFORM
This year we relaunched The Toolbox with a fully refreshed user experience designed to make resources easier to find, download, and use:
- A new downloads flow with checkboxes for multi-select downloads, and improved language filters and search functionality with resource coding.
- As you prepare your 2025 sustainability reports, be sure to download the 2025 carbon calculator, updated with the most recent carbon factors. Download from the Step 7 resources folder aqui.
- Now in German! The Toolbox website and full resource suite has been published German, making The Toolbox now available in five languages.
Log in, try the new downloads flow on your next project, and tell us which tools you are using most so we can prioritize future improvements.
2. AUSTRIAN SKI FEDERATION & ISO 20121: A FLAGSHIP SUCCESS STORY
Under our Toolbox Accelerator stream (You’re one stop shop to find advanced support or consultancy in The Toolbox community), we supported Austrian Ski Federation (ASF) alongside the International Ski and Snowboard federation (FIS) to reach a key milestone in bringing sustainability to the world of snow sports. With Toolbox support, ASF successfully completed their ISO 20121 audit for international Alpine Ski Championships Saalbach 2025:
- They accessed support from three consultants in the Toolbox network, using The Toolbox frameworks and 1:1 advisory to embed improved sustainability practices for their events.
- In return they supported the translation of The Toolbox into German, opening the platform to a whole new locale of community members.
3. EXPANDING INTO MANUFACTURING WITH B2GREENHUB
Our collaboration with B2GreenHub opened The Toolbox to a large network of European manufacturers:
- More than 200 manufacturers introduced to The Toolbox community.
- Sector-specific assessments, circular economy case studies, and manufacturing-focused guides added to the Recursos comunitários section.
4. A GLOBAL COMMUNITY: NOW MORE THAN 1,000 MEMBERS!
The Toolbox community has grown steadily throughout 2025 and now includes more than 1,000 members across 100+ countries e 130+ sectors.
Toolbox users include:
- National and international sport bodies
- Events, stadia, and visitor attractions
- Consulting firms and sustainability freelancers
- Colleges, NGOs, tourism SMEs, and manufacturing organizations
Our expanding community is using The Toolbox to design policies, deliver programs, and build monitoring, accountability, and learning capacity.
5. REAL WORLD IMPACT: CASE STUDIES, WORKSHOPS, & EVENTS
This year we saw The Toolbox applied in concrete, measurable ways:
- NewportFILM showcased how Toolbox-guided planning helped deliver higher-performing, lower-waste events – including strong compost diversion, improved transport choices, and Green Event certification.
- Toulouse Business School students used Toolbox resources to tackle real client sustainability challenges.
- Workshops at the US Sailing Leadership Forum, an IMOCA Toolbox session, and a breakfast event at the Sport Positive Summit helped position The Toolbox as a practical framework for sports teams looking to turn ambition into action.
- The Toolbox Team delivered the inaugural METS Impact Lab session, at Metstrade; a full-day workshop bringing together 60 participants from across the marine value chain. After a keynote on systems change, attendees split into two tracks:
- Product Track, designed around MarineShift360 lifecycle assessments (LCAs) to understand and reduce product impacts
- Organization Track, using The Toolbox to strengthen sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement and measurable action
