New Case Study: Bamboo U
The Toolbox users from across the globe have provided us with some amazing case studies of how they have used The Toolbox, and this month, Bamboo U share their insights with the community. Bamboo U used tools from Step 6 – Implementing a sustainability program, to create a checklist for sustainable sourcing of bamboo. The checklist aimed to help course participants consider the entire process of obtaining bamboo and align with Bamboo U’s ethos of reliability, sustainability, and regeneration.
All case studies are published in the language of the user who created them. If you would like to share your experiences with the toolbox community see the next article.

UNFCCC Call for Sport for Climate Action Reports
Many of our Toolbox Community members are from the world of sports and events and, as such, are signatories to the adherence to the UNFCCC Sports for Climate Action Framework (UNFCCC S4CA). These organizations have pledged to actively engage in climate action communication to motivate fans, stakeholders and society by using their influence to leverage change. Signatories must also assess and disclose greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, demonstrating their pathway to reducing their carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and Net Zero by 2040.
If your organization is a signatory, then you may or may not know that to fulfill your commitment, you must submit your progress and essential details from your 2022 Annual report to UNFCCC S4CA before September 30, 2023. Responses take the form of a survey which was released last month. A comprehensive report, comprising the collective data, will subsequently be published on the Global Climate Action Portal. For extra guidance, The Toolbox has made a handbook in partnership with ANOC on how to meet the UNFCCC Sports for Climate Action Framework. You can also consult the Reporting Guidelines and a Troubleshooting Sheet created by UNFCCC

Human Trafficking  Day
Human Trafficking Day, observed on July 30th,
presents a pivotal opportunity for sustainability strategists to address forced labor,
child labor, and modern slavery in their value and supply chains.
As a Toolbox user, we invite you to take action to examine your operations and supply networks to identify vulnerabilities and assess the risk of human trafficking. From there, you can begin working with suppliers to understand the principles of their processes,
prioritize partners with ethical labor practices, and promote
transparency and traceability.
By collaborating with industry peers, NGOs, and governmental organizations, your organization can advocate for stronger regulations and policies, and collective initiatives, partnering with your stakeholders, can develop industry-wide codes of conduct.
The Blue Heart Campaign urges active participation from governments, civil society, and the corporate sector, to inspire collective action and combat human trafficking. Engaging and mobilizing resources to address this issue is crucial within the corporate sector. By joining the campaign and leveraging your influence and resources, your businesses can significantly prevent human trafficking.
